TERMINOLOGICAL
DICTIONARY
The Association is compiling a terminological dictionary concerning portable
fire-arms and artillery, from 1870 until today, to be published soon.
The editing of the terminological dictionary concerning the artillery
of previous periods will follow.
EXHIBITS CATALOGUING
The cataloguing of the Museum's exhibits is in progress by means of detailed
records for introduction in the "Guarini" programme started by the Region
Piemonte based on the guidelines of the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage.
COMPUTERIZATION of the LIBRARY and HISTORICAL ARCHIVES
Regarding the library and historical archives existing in the Museum,
the cataloguings and computerizations are in progress, supported by a
contribution of Region Piemonte. The collections, in constant evolution,
include works and documents beginning from the seventeenth century.
LECTURES
The Association organizes, every year at the Museum, two series of lectures
on military-historical subjects.
TOURS
With the initiative "Torino non a caso" (Turin, not by chance), organized
by the Turin city council, the Association organized planned a guided
tour in collaboration with the Association "Amici del Museo Pietro Micca"
(Friends of the Pietro Micca Museum). Thematic tours to the collections
of the Museum in Turin are also planned both in the headquarters of corso
Galileo Ferraris 0 (zero) or in via Bologna 190 subsidiary.
COMPETITION FOR SCHOOLS
During every school year, the Association promotes the competition "Scopri
il Museo di Artiglieria" (Discover the Artillery Museum), whose target
are the students of all the elementary, junior and senior secondary schools
in Turin and in the towards region. Prizes are awarded to single students,
to classes and to teachers for the best research on the Museum.
ASSOCIATIVE COLLECTION
A collection of books, booklets, periodicals, musical CDs, CD Roms, video
cassettes, etc. initiated recently by the Association placed in the secretary's
office at the members' disposal. The collection, in full evolution, makes
use of purchases in the market, of donations from institutions and private
people and eventually of loans.
